February 1870 - The women of the Canterbury Society met Scott's expectations. Boring. Except for one young lady, Madison Elizabeth Campbell, who was a delightful conversationalist.
The next day she invited Scott to take a bicycle tour of the surrounding countryside. Scott eagerly accepted. And so it was Scott who ventured out on a bicycle with Madison...and Madison's father...and Madison's mother...and Madison's older sister...and Madison's Great Aunt Edna, who kept referring to Scott as "a bit scruffy".
